I just want to get ready for the season," Betancourt said.

The Rockies went after RP Jordan Walden before he was traded to the Atlanta Braves last week. The Rockies are also looking at Houston Astros RP Wilton Lopez, who was nearly traded to the Philadelphia Phillies. They want to find a reliever who can compete for the closer role with RP Rafael Betancourt. The Rockies are interested in free-agent RP Joakim Soria (Royals), but he won't be joining Colorado, according to a source close to Soria. Free-agent RP Jason Grilli (Pirates) is another option.

The Baltimore Orioles, New York Yankees and Oakland Athletics all have varying degrees of interest in the veteran reliever. The Boston Red Sox also showed interest earlier in the month, while the Chicago White Sox and Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim are said to be looking for bullpen help. However, the Rockies might not be as willing to part with Betancourt since he is under contract in 2013, and there is a mutual option in 2014.

"We're not trading Carlos Gonzalez." Washington Nationals GM Mike Rizzo reportedly called with interest in Gonzalez and was turned down. OF Michael Cuddyer is unlikely to go anywhere, either. OF Dexter Fowler is unlikely to be moved, but O'Dowd did not call him untouchable. RPs Rafael Betancourt and Matt Belisle are unlikely to be traded as well, per O'Dowd. SP Jeremy Guthrie, 1B Jason Giambi and SS Marco Scutaro are the most likely to be traded if anyone goes this summer.
