"But Doc told him if he did it again, it would go from a Grade 1 to a Grade 2. ... That was the thing Doc said to Matt before the game, that we need to get this healthy and let it heal up and not let it be a problem all year."

OF Jerry Sands was recalled from Triple-A Albuquerque. Kemp will be eligible to return May 29. Fantasy Tip: This is the course of action fantasy owners should've been hoping for. Kemp will have ample time to recover from this nagging hamstring strain, assuming that it doesn't turn out to be serious or that he doesn't aggravate it. Sands has struggled to control the strike zone for much of his time in the majors, so he's not a great bet in deep leagues, but LA's playing time picture becomes muddled with him in it. Sun, 13 May 2012 21:57:01 -0700 Updating a previous report, Los Angeles Dodgers manager Don Mattingly wouldn't rule out the possibility of OF Matt Kemp (hamstring) landing on the 15-day disabled list due to his left hamstring injury. "I'm not afraid to do it if that is what we have to do," Mattingly said. "I will let the medical people tell us what they think. They know a lot more about it than me." Kemp is awaiting MRI results which are expected to be available Monday, May 14.
