Minnesota Vikings special teams coordinator Mike Priefer said Friday, Nov. 11, that PK Ryan Longwell has "something minor" that has been affecting his kicking recently, causing him to miss three field goals over the past four games. He didn't get into specifics, but said adjustments were made in practice this week.

"Our full intention to go back to Minnesota and put together another good stretch of years up there," Longwell said. "It does seem like a really good fit. Minnesota Vikings impending free-agent PK Ryan Longwell said that he is not ruling out anything when free agency begins. He said he would like to re-sign with the Vikings but is willing to sign with any team that needs a kicker. "I'm not closing any doors to free agency," Longwell said, "because you just don't know who needs a veteran experienced kicker. We've had fun in Minnesota and certainly think there is legitimate chance to go back there and succeed." Longwell said he will be definitely will play this season.
