The Washington Redskins have waived veteran WR Joey Galloway, reports ESPN.com. Galloway, 39, had 12 receptions for 173 yards receiving with the team this season.

Washington Redskins WRs Joey Galloway and Roydell Williams are listed as co-starters at split end, reports Jason Reid, of The Washington Post. They are ahead of WRs Devin Thomas and Malcolm Kelly (hamstring) on the depth chart, but it is still early. Thomas and Kelly will be given the opportunity to climb the depth chart during training camp. Head coach Mike Shanahan said he felt Galloway and Williams played the best during the summer. "This is where we start. It is a starting point. It's surely not where we are gonna finish. It could be. There is gonna be a competition," Shanahan said.

Pittsburgh Steelers WR Joey Galloway, who is soon to be an unrestricted free-agent, said he is going to prepare to play during the 2010 season and is just going to wait for the phone to ring from another NFL team. He said he loves to play the game and isn't ready to retire.
