Brewers | Two options at leadoff

Tue, 21 Feb 2012 14:10:26 -0800

Milwaukee Brewers 2B Rickie Weeks and OF Corey Hart are the two options to hit leadoff this year, and manager Ron Roenicke prefers OF Nyjer Morgan hitting second. OF Ryan Braun is penciled in to start third, assuming he isn't suspended, and 3B Aramis Ramirez will hit cleanup. Weeks or Hart would hit fifth and 3B Mat Gamel could hit as high as sixth or down at No. 8. SS Alex Gonzalez and C Jonathan Lucroy fill out the order.

Brewers | Aramis Ramirez joining team

Mon, 12 Dec 2011 10:01:16 -0800

The Milwaukee Brewers agreed to a three-year deal with free-agent 3B Aramis Ramirez (Cubs) Monday, Dec. 12, pending a physical. Financial terms weren't disclosed.

Fantasy Tip: This move won't drastically change A-Ram's fantasy value. The signing most likely rules out the already remote chances of the Brewers re-signing Prince Fielder. Casey McGehee and Mat Gamel are expected to share duties at first base next year, with the Brew Crew giving Gamel every opportunity to prove he deserves the bulk of the PT. Gamel has more upside but hasn't been able to stay healthy early in his career. McGehee will be more of a corner infield depth piece for your fantasy roster.
