Phillies | Roy Halladay not himself

Fri, 25 May 2012 10:57:15 -0700

Philadelphia Phillies SP Roy Halladay averaged 40 fastballs per game during the 2010 season, and he threw just 14 in his ugly start against the Washington Nationals Tuesday, May 22. "I've never, ever seen him pitch like that - not since the Blue Jays sent him back to the minor leagues (in 2000). He had no command of his fastball, and he didn't even want to use his fastball. I've never seen his command that off or his pitch selection that bad." Halladay continues to say that he is completely healthy.

Philadelphia Phillies pitching coach Rich Dubee says that there could be a number of factors for SP Roy Halladay's slow start, but Dubee said Halladay still has the stuff that could make him a big winner. "There might be a tick difference in his velocity but it's the consistent execution of the pitches," Dubee said. "He is just not completing his delivery as he has in the past for whatever reason."
