Boston Red Sox SP Josh Beckett defended his decision to play golf a day after he was scratched from his start last weekend due to an injury to his lat muscle. "We get 18 off days a year. I think we deserve a little time to ourselves," Beckett said when asked if his golfing gave people a negative perception of him in light of how poorly the team was playing.
