The New York Mets have placed SP Miguel Batista (back) on the 15-day disabled list because of a minor muscle pull in his lower back. In a corresponding move, SP Chris Schwinden has been recalled from Triple-A Buffalo.

New York Mets SP Chris Young (shoulder) threw five scoreless innings for Single-A St. Lucie Thursday, May 10, giving up five hits while walking two and striking out four. Young was hitting 85 mph on the radar gun, but the team expects him to gain a few ticks. Young will make one more start with St. Lucie and then move to Triple-A Buffalo. Young is expected to replace P Miguel Batista in the rotation eventually.

Hefner and Olson are both pitching at Class AAA. Ps Zack Wheeler, Matt Harvey and Jeurys Familia are not options.
