Oakland Athletics OF Yoenis Cespedes (illness) left the game in the fifth inning with a stomach bug Monday, May 13. Cespedes homered earlier in the game. "It came on during the game," manager Bob Melvin said. "He threw up a couple times in the bathroom. They're calling it a stomach ailment, they don't think it's a stomach virus. They think he should be in good shape to play tomorrow."

Confirming a previous report, the Oakland Athletics have activated OF Yoenis Cespedes (hand) from the 15-day disabled list. In a corresponding move, OF Casper Wells has been designated for assignment.

He is expected to serve as the designated hitter Saturday, April 27. Barring any setbacks, he'll come off the 15-day disabled list when eligible Sunday, April 28.

Oakland Athletics OF Yoenis Cespedes (hand) took batting practice Wednesday, April 24, and could begin his rehab assignment with Triple-A Sacramento Thursday, April 25, which would put him on track to return from the disabled list Sunday, April 28.

Fantasy Tip: All indications point to Cespedes returning Sunday or at the latest, Monday. Make preparations to get him back into your everyday lineup.

Fantasy Tip: There is still no timetable for when Cespedes will return from his DL stint, so remain patient. In the meantime, Seth Smith and Chris B. Young have seen more PT in the absence of Cespedes, and newcomer Casper Wells may be in line for some at-bats with Cespedes on the DL, too.

Cespedes is expected to take batting practice during the team's next series. He likely would play in a rehab game Friday, April 26, or Saturday, April 27, before coming off the disabled list Sunday, April 28.
