Washington Nationals 2B Danny Espinosa is back in the lineup Friday, May 3, after sitting out for two games at the expense of 2B Steve Lombardozzi. Espinosa has a triple slash line of only .173/.212/.333 this year. Manager Davey Johnson was non-committal on whether Espinosa will remain as the primary second baseman, but he will give him every chance to prove he deserves the spot.

Fantasy Tip: Espinosa is best used as a middle infielder in deep mixed leagues, and it wouldn't be a bad idea to bench him until he gets going, if you have that luxury. Lombardozzi isn't a bad gamble in deep leagues, either, just in case he winds up winning more playing time over the struggling Espinosa.

Washington Nationals 3B Ryan Zimmerman (hamstring) and 2B Danny Espinosa (wrist) are sitting out Friday, April 19.

Fantasy Tip: Neither player's injuries are considered serious, and Espinosa asked to be in the lineup after taking pre-game batting practice. Both players could be back in tomorrow.

Washington Nationals manager Davey Johnson said 2B Danny Espinosa (hand) is day-to-day with a bruised right hand. He could return Wednesday, April 17, but he's more likely to be back Friday, April 19.

Fantasy Tip: Continue to check back each day to see if Espinosa is back in the lineup. Steve Lombardozzi is in the lineup at the keystone today and will likely continue to play at second until Espinosa is ready to return.

Washington Nationals manager Davey Johnson said 2B Danny Espinosa (wrist) probably will miss a game or two because of a sore right wrist even though Espinosa said he hopes to play Monday, April 15. Espinosa underwent X-rays on his wrist but they did not show any breaks or structural damage.
