The Chargers, however, do not know yet if Volek wants to return as the backup to QB Philip Rivers again this season. The team plans to make an offer to Volek, possibly in the three-year, $9 million range they did after the 2007 season. If Volek is looking for a chance to start somewhere, the Chargers may move on.

"The funny thing is, to this day, I still don't know why I am not starting (for the Titans)," Volek said.
