Vikings | Childress discusses possible Peterson, LT tandem
Fri, 12 Mar 2010 08:16:35 -0800 Mike Wobschall, of Vikings.com, reports Minnesota Vikings head coach Brad Childress said during a radio interview that the Vikings meeting with unrestricted free-agent LaDainian Tomlinson (Chargers) went well and if they signed him, RB Adrian Peterson and Tomlinson would make a formidable pairing. "I really look at it as a guy that if we were fortunate enough to get him, we would have a 1 and 1A. He understands that dynamic. But he can do all the things that he needs to do in this offense," Childress said.

Spielman said Tomlinson may want to look at other options to see which is the best for him.

Wed, 10 Mar 2010 17:00:06 -0800 Vikings.com reports Minnesota Vikings vice president of player personnel Rick Spielman said free-agent RB LaDainian Tomlinson (Chargers) is a player "out there that we felt was a viable option and we'll go ahead and have him come in; we'll visit with him and just see where things are. It's just a normal process that we go through." Head coach Brad Childress said he believes Tomlinson is coming in to get a feel for the franchise, and the Vikings plan to do the same to see where Tomlinson's mind is at. "Does the situation fit him? I'm sure he wants to know what our vision is for him," Childress said. "And then our sense for him. Will he fit? From a mindset standpoint, from a physical standpoint, from a system standpoint." Tomlinson, as reported, is set to meet with the Vikings this week.
