Sun, 19 May 2013 10:36:26 -0700 As a result of their rainout against the Toronto Blue Jays Sunday, May 19, the New York Yankees will skip SP Vidal Nuno in the rotation. SPs CC Sabathia, Phil Hughes and Hiroki Kuroda are scheduled to face the Baltimore Orioles in a three-game series beginning Monday, May 20.
Sat, 20 Apr 2013 18:22:49 -0700 New York Yankees SP Hiroki Kuroda allowed just one earned run, three hits and a walk over 7 1/3 innings Saturday, April 20, in a no-decision against the Toronto Blue Jays. He also struck out seven batters in the 108-pitch quality start. The Yankees are being careful with Kuroda, who has thrown 100 or more pitches in three of his first four starts. "We've got to remember that he's not 25 anymore either," manager Joe Girardi said. "It's a long season. I think he went 114 (pitches) the time before, but I knew he had an extra day - an extra day leading up to that and an extra day after. We're on five days for a while, and I don't want to kill these guys early."
Mon, 15 Apr 2013 11:20:14 -0700 New York Yankees SP Hiroki Kuroda tossed a five-hit complete game shutout against the Baltimore Orioles Sunday, April 14, for his fifth career shutout. He struck out four and walked none in the start while inducing 18 ground-ball outs. Fantasy Tip: Kuroda's sinker was in top form in this one, and it's obvious that the finger injury that he suffered in his first start is far in the rearview mirror.
Sun, 07 Apr 2013 13:47:14 -0700 New York Yankees SP Hiroki Kuroda (finger) did some throwing in the outfield before the team's game Sunday, April 7, and is still on track to make his scheduled start Monday, April 8.
Fri, 05 Apr 2013 12:19:49 -0700 New York Yankees SP Hiroki Kuroda (finger) threw a 36-pitch bullpen session Friday, April 5, and is expected to make his next start versus the Cleveland Indians Monday, April 8, barring a setback. "He had no problems at all, he threw all his pitches," pitching coach Larry Rothschild said. "We'll see how it is tomorrow, but he looked fine." Fantasy Tip: Unless Kuroda suffers a setback this weekend, start him as you usually would against the Tribe on Monday.
Thu, 04 Apr 2013 18:46:05 -0700 New York Yankees SP Hiroki Kuroda (finger) said his injured finger does not feel normal and that he is dealing with some discomfort. He has been icing his finger and has taped the finger to alleviate the pain.
Thu, 04 Apr 2013 13:16:11 -0700 New York Yankees manager Joe Girardi said SP Hiroki Kuroda (finger) will make his next scheduled start.
Thu, 04 Apr 2013 10:51:39 -0700 New York Yankees SP Hiroki Kuroda (finger) will throw a bullpen session Friday, April 5, which will determine if he can make his next start. SP Adam Warren could take Kuroda's spot in the rotation if he can't go. Ps Vidal Nuno and Chien-Ming Wang are other possibilities.
Wed, 03 Apr 2013 20:00:53 -0700 Updating a previous report, New York Yankees SP Hiroki Kuroda (finger) had X-rays on his right middle finger and they came back negative. He is considered day to day due to a contusion suffered in his start Wednesday, April 3, against the Boston Red Sox. Fantasy Tip: It appears the Yankees and Fantasy owners dodged a huge bullet, although it is still uncertain if Kuroda will be able to make his next scheduled start which is set for Monday, April 8, on the road against the Cleveland Indians.
