In addition to being able to play all four infield positions and center field, manager Joe Maddon could use Rodriguez in left field this year.

Rodriguez took grounders before the Monday, Sept. 3, series opener against the New York Yankees and flipped balls back in with his broken hand, still unable to throw the ball. He said doctors are planning to have Rodriguez undergo more X-rays "in a couple weeks" to see if the fracture is healing correctly.
