Wed, 22 May 2013 19:52:57 -0700 Houston Astros SP Bud Norris (back) said Wednesday, May 22, that he does not expect to miss his next scheduled start despite leaving his past two outings due to lower back spasms. "I really don't want to (miss the next start). I think the prevention process of taking care of it now and getting me out of the game will help," Norris said. Fantasy Tip: Norris has left each of his past two starts early. It might be a good idea to reserve him in all fantasy formats until he can make it through one full outing without any setbacks or disruptions.
Tue, 21 May 2013 19:10:44 -0700 Houston Astros SP Bud Norris (back) was lifted from his start Tuesday, May 21, against the Kansas City Royals due to tightness in his back. Fantasy Tip: It's hard to rely upon Norris right now. Going forward, he should be reserved in all fantasy leagues until he can make it through one full outing without any setbacks.
Sat, 18 May 2013 11:41:32 -0700 Houston Astros SP Bud Norris (back) will start against the Kansas City Royals Tuesday, May 21, after originally being scheduled to start against the Pittsburgh Pirates Sunday, May 19. SP Lucas Harrell and Dallas Keuchel each had their starts moved up one day, with Harrell pitching Sunday and Keuchel pitching Monday, May 20, against the Royals.
Tue, 14 May 2013 18:07:12 -0700 Updating a previous report, Houston Astros SP Bud Norris (back) remained sore Tuesday, May 14, and his status for his next scheduled start is uncertain. "It's pretty sore still," Norris said. "But (the trainers) said the next couple of days it will be painful." Manager Bo Porter said Norris is day to day, but the pitcher will undergo treatment over the next few days. Fantasy Tip: Norris' status for Sunday against the Pittsburgh Pirates appears to be in some jeopardy, so reserve him in daily fantasy formats in favor of a healthier alternative. It doesn't sound like an injury which will land him on the 15-day disabled list at this time.
Mon, 13 May 2013 19:50:41 -0700 Houston Astros SP Bud Norris (back) left the team's game Monday, May 13, after suffering back spasms throwing warm-up pitches in the sixth inning. Fantasy Tip: There was no update on how much time Norris could miss, or if he will miss any time at all. Monitor his status over the next couple days as his spot in the rotation gets closer.
Fri, 03 May 2013 13:44:39 -0700 The Houston Astros would likely listen to trade offers for SPs Bud Norris and Lucas Harrell this summer, even though they are the team's two most reliable pitchers so far. Executives would almost all prefer trading for Harrell over Norris, though, mainly because he won't be a free agent until 2018. Scouts are concerned that Norris is still a two-pitch pitcher, too.
Mon, 22 Apr 2013 15:06:35 -0700 Houston Astros general manager Jeff Luhnow said the team is not planning on trading SP Bud Norris. "Bud's a critical part of our team," Luhnow said. "He's always going to be rumored to be moved, and that's unfortunate for him and unfortunate for us, but there's nothing active happening right now. There hasn't been in a long time and we're not planning on moving Bud. He's an important part of our team right now."
Thu, 18 Apr 2013 11:45:54 -0700 Houston Astros SP Bud Norris lasted only two-thirds of an inning in his loss to the Oakland Athletics Wednesday, April 17. Both of his losses this year have come against the Athletics. Norris surrendered five hits and six earned runs while walking three in his poor outing.
Fri, 05 Apr 2013 13:46:08 -0700 Houston Astros SP Bud Norris will make the start Saturday, April 6, instead of SP Erik Bedard. Bedard will make his season debut instead against the Seattle Mariners Tuesday, April 9.
Thu, 28 Mar 2013 07:15:04 -0700 The Houston Astros starting rotation is as follows: SPs Bud Norris, Lucas Harrell, Philip Humber, Brad Peacock and Erik Bedard.
