New York Yankees manager Joe Girardi hinted that SS Eduardo Nunez will see some time in left field with OF Brett Gardner (elbow) on the disabled list. "It's possible," Girardi said. "We'll just have to see how guys are feeling. Without Gardy being here, the one guy that we probably have to pay the closest attention to is (Curtis) Granderson, because we don't necessarily have a true center fielder, besides Curtis. We're going to have to check with him as much as we can." Nunez and OF Andruw Jones could be used to spell OF Curtis Granderson in center field.

Updating an earlier report, New York Yankees manager Joe Girardi said today's lineup switch is permanent with 3B Alex Rodriguez hitting third and 2B Robinson Cano hitting cleanup. The thought process is to split up Cano and fellow left-handed hitter OF Curtis Granderson to make it more difficult on bullpens late in the game.

New York Yankees manager Joe Girardi decided to have No. 2 hitter Curtis Granderson and No. 6 hitter Nick Swisher trade spots in the batting order against Tampa Bay Rays SP David Price Saturday, April 7. Girardi said the change could be used on a regular basis when the Yankees are facing a tough left-handed pitcher. Swisher went 1-for-3 with a three-run homer, while Granderson went 2-for-4 with a triple and two runs scored.
