Updating previous reports, Minnesota Twins 3B Trevor Plouffe (head) said that he passed his initial concussion test but was still experiencing concussion-like symptoms prior to his placement on the seven-day disabled list. He said that he feels better today. He'll be re-evaluated on Friday, May 24, when he takes the ImPACT test, which determines whether he has a concussion or just showed the symptoms because of the initial blow to his head.

In corresponding moves, OF Darin Mastroianni (ankle) was transferred from the 15-day disabled list to the 60-day disabled list and INF/OF Chris Colabello, 29, was recalled from Triple-A Rochester. This is Colabello's first call-up to the majors, and he received his first start on Wednesday, May 22.

Fantasy Tip: It sounds as if Plouffe has a good chance to avoid an extended absence. Jamey Carroll is likely a candidate to play more often. Colabello is unlikely to have fantasy value.

Minnesota Twins 3B Trevor Plouffe (head) left the game Tuesday, May 21, against the Atlanta Braves in the 10th inning after being kicked in the head by Braves 2B Dan Uggla while trying to break up a double play. Plouffe was sent to test for concussion symptoms, but results of the exam were not known.

Minnesota Twins 3B Trevor Plouffe (calf) had no setbacks in minor league action Wednesday, March 20, and he will return to Grapefruit League action Friday, March 22.

Minnesota Twins 3B Trevor Plouffe (calf) is expected to play in a minor league game Wednesday, March 20, and he'll be the designated hitter.

Fantasy Tip: Plouffe has been dinged up all spring, but the team is being cautious with his playing time with opening day approaching. He's a nice third base or corner infield target in drafts after his power breakout last year. He's a threat to hit 30 homers if he stays healthy all year.

Minnesota Twins 3B Trevor Plouffe (calf) will go for a precautionary MRI exam on his right calf. Plouffe is not worried about his injury, but he'll be out around a week.
