David O'Brien, of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, reports Atlanta Braves RP Scott Proctor is likely to be under contract with the team for two years. His deal will pay a prorated portion of a $750,000 salary for any time he spends on the major league roster, and $12,000 per month while he is in the minors. Proctor's contract also includes additional incentives for appearances, starting at 10 games and increasing to a maximum of $250,000 for 50.

Mark Sheldon, of MLB.com, reports the Cincinnati Reds will not pick up the $8.5 million option for the 2010 season on C Ramon Hernandez, according to general manager Walt Jocketty. However, the team is trying to negotiate a new deal with their catcher. The buyout of Hernandez's option is worth $1 million. He is rated as a Type B free agent, which means the team would receive a first-round sandwich pick in the 2010 Draft if he is signed by another team. C Ryan Hanigan would likely serve as the starter if Hernandez departs.


Nationals | Strasburg has strained neck

Todd Zolecki, of MLB.com, reports Philadelphia Phillies OF Raul Ibanez (groin), RP Brad Lidge (elbow) and RP Scott Eyre (elbow) will all be seen by team doctors Friday, Nov. 6, and Saturday, Nov. 7. Lidge will be checked for potential loose bodies in his elbow and Ibanez will have an MRI on his groin. Eyre will need surgery to remove a loose body from his elbow.
