Meanwhile, the team is making plans for his return by ordering new protective batting helmets for him to try if he's cleared. Stanton could try out the helmets later this week. The Marlins are hoping to learn Wednesday, Sept. 17, whether Stanton will be allowed to return. He is scheduled to have his stitches removed Wednesday and have another set of X-rays taken. Miami isn't expecting Stanton to be cleared to start a game or play in the field, though, but they aren't ruling out having him receive an at-bat or two in the next week.
