Houston Astros SP Lance McCullers (shoulder) threw 62 pitches in 4 2/3 innings in an extended spring training start Monday, May 2, and he could rejoin the rotation within a week to 10 days. McCullers' velocity was between 92 and 97 mph, according to manager A.J. Hinch. McCullers is scheduled to start next for Class AAA Fresno Saturday, May 7. He could be activated from the disabled list after one rehab start, but the Astros will be cautious with him.

Hamilton felt weakness and pain in the back of his left knee over the weekend and received a cortisone shot. General manager Jon Daniels said the team has no expectations for Hamilton to return to full health.
