The New York Mets put OF Daniel Murphy at the top of the lineup Sunday, May 19, against the Chicago Cubs, and indications are he may stay there if the lineup needs a little tinkering to revive the offense. Murphy went 1-for-4 with a home run and two runs scored, and he is now 3-for-20 in 23 career plate appearances from the top of the order, Mets' leadoff hitters are batting just .186 from the top spot, last in the National League. The team has scored three runs or fewer in 10 of their last 13 games.

The Minnesota Twins rested OF Josh Willingham and C Ryan Doumit on Sunday, May 19, against the Boston Red Sox. Willingham entered Sunday hitting just .103 (4-for-39) over his last 10 games with no homers to lower his average to .108 on the season. Wilkin Ramirez made the start in left field in his place. As for Doumit, he was given the day off after catching the day before in a game that lasted three hours and 53 minutes. He was also involved in a collision at home plate with Red Sox C Ryan Lavarnway in the sixth inning.

Updating previous items, Texas Rangers manager Ron Washington acknowledged when he met with SP Alexi Ogando (biceps) about the pitcher's biceps tendonitis, Ogando revealed that it had been bothering him before his start against the Oakland Athletics. Ogando is now on the 15-day disabled list. "He finally told me that when we were talking and I said 'You can't do that'," Washington said. "He's got a different workload this year. When you are a reliever and you only have to pitch an inning or so, you can pitch through some soreness, but when you are a starter, it's a different situation. You can make it worse."

San Diego Padres C Yasmani Grandal returned to game action Saturday, May 18, for Triple-A Tucson, catching nine innings. He went 2-for-4 with a run scored and RBI. He is allowed to play 10 minor league games before he is eligible to return from his 50-game suspension and play for the Padres May 28.

FANTASY TIP: Grandal is expected to split time behind the dish with Nick Hundley when he returns, and manager Bud Black has said he will go with the hot hand. Grandal is worth adding in all NL-only fantasy leagues, and is decent depth in mixed formats in leagues which require two starting backstops.
