Brewers | Will use closer by committee Milwaukee Brewers manager Ron Roenicke said he does not expect to name one reliever to close while RP Jim Henderson (hamstring) is out and will use several closers depending on the matchup. Roenicke said he likes how the team is using RP John Axford and is not sure if he will use Axford to close games. FANTASY TIP: It does not really help fantasy owners that the team has not named a replacement closer at this point. Blue Jays | Jose Reyes starting to run Toronto Blue Jays SS Jose Reyes (ankle) was able to begin running Friday, May 24, which is the first time he has put a lot of pressure on his ankle since he injured it. He has been hitting tosses and played catch before starting to run. He is expected to take batting practice and field ground balls next week and could even resume full baseball activities. FANTASY TIP: It sounds like Reyes is making good progress in his return from a severely sprained ankle. He will be starting more baseball activities soon but is probably a few weeks away from returning. The team may have him go on a rehab assignment before rejoining the team. Comment |

Royals | Salvador Perez goes on bereavement list The Kansas City Royals have placed C Salvador Perez on the bereavement list and will miss three to seven days. Perez is leaving the team because of the death of his grandmother. In a corresponding move, the team recalled C Adam Moore from Triple-A Omaha.
