Braves | Freddie Freeman struggling with eyesight

Atlanta Braves 1B Freddie Freeman was not in the starting lineup Thursday, May 24, because he is dealing with dry eyes while wearing contacts which is affecting his eyesight. The team has ordered a pair of sports glasses for him to wear instead of contacts. Freeman said he will continue to wear the glasses unless he finds a pair of contacts that do not irritate his eyes. Freeman has gone only 9-for-55 with one home run and six RBIs in his last 15 games.

Twins | Ryan Doumit dealing with calf injury

Minnesota Twins C Ryan Doumit (calf) was not in the starting lineup Thursday, May 24, because he felt soreness in his calf after running out two base hits Tuesday, May 22. The team may push back when Doumit catches again because of the injury. Doumit caught a bullpen session Tuesday, but the team wants him to catch a few more sessions and throw to the bases before putting him into a game at catcher.
