Cincinnati Reds SP Mat Latos (knee) is rebounding nicely from surgery in his knee, and he might be able to rejoin the rotation in the first week of the regular season. "I think there's a good chance," manager Bryan Price said. "I don't mean to dangle a carrot in front of him -- because we're not going to do anything irresponsible to get him ready simply to have him on the opening day roster. But if he stays on his protocol that he's on now, there's a good chance he could be ready to start somewhere after that off day on April 1." Latos threw a bullpen Saturday, March 8, and will throw another before facing hitters in live batting practice. He'll need at least four spring starts before being ready to pitch in a regular season game.

San Francisco Giants CL Sergio Romo has a 33.00 ERA and allowed 11 hits in four appearances this spring. Romo said he has only thrown fastballs and changeups this spring and is holding his slider back. Romo said he is focusing on trying to get hitters out with just those two pitches this spring.
FANTASY TIP: If his spring statistics gave you pause, this should calm your nerves. He's still an upper-echelon fantasy reliever, and there's nothing mechanically or physically wrong with him.
