Updating a previous report, Denver Broncos WR Wes Welker (concussion) will undergo baseline testing Monday, Dec. 9, after suffering a concussion in the Week 14 game against the Tennessee Titans. Welker had five grabs for 61 yards and a score before departing. Even if Welker were cleared for activity this week with that exam, the league's protocol for concussions would preclude him from playing Thursday, Dec. 12, in the Week 15 game against the San Diego Chargers.
FANTASY TIP: Remember, this is Welker's second concussion in the last four games. Although not official yet, Welker will almost certainly miss the Thursday game against San Diego. Make plans to be without him. Demaryius Thomas, Eric Decker and Julius Thomas will receive a boost in value as a result.

Updating a previous report, Minnesota Vikings RB Adrian Peterson (foot) is being diagnosed with a foot sprain, not an ankle injury as previously reported. Peterson admitted he has pain in his mid-foot area, and is scheduled to undergo an MRI Monday, Dec. 9, to determine if there's any Lisfranc damage. X-rays after the Week 14 game against the Baltimore Ravens were negative. Peterson said Sunday, Dec. 8, that he does not believe the injury is of the season-ending variety. "Not at all. You should've seen me in here, trying to get back out there," Peterson said. "I kept my pads on throughout most of the third quarter, until I finally was like, 'I'm not going to be able to go'."
FANTASY TIP: With Peterson out of the game, Toby Gerhart took over and had a solid stat line. If the team elects to keep Peterson out for any game action, Gerhart would be a tremendous fantasy replacement.

New England Patriots RB Shane Vereen carried three times for nine yards and a touchdown in Week 14 against the Cleveland Browns, and he added 12 receptions for a career-high 153 yards.
FANTASY TIP: Vereen has emerged as a stud in points-per-reception (PPR) fantasy formats, posting five or more receptions in each of his five games this season, and at least seven catches in four of his five contests.

San Francisco 49ers RB Frank Gore (ankle) left the Week 14 game against the Seattle Seahawks late in the fourth quarter, apparently aggravating his ankle injury. He was able to return and finish the game after a brief absence. He ended up going over 100 yards on the ground, including a season-long 51-yard scamper to set up the game-winning field goal.
