Washington Redskins head coach Mike Shanahan continues to say that owner Daniel Snyder and general manager Bruce Allen were "100 percent" on board with his decision to shut down QB Robert Griffin III for the rest of the season. The three men decided collectively that it would be the best for the team if QB Kirk Cousins played out the season to give Griffin a chance to go into the offseason healthy. "The chance of coming back (from another injury)," Shanahan added, "would be very, very tough."

The Seattle Mariners have agreed to terms with free-agent 1B Corey Hart (Brewers) on a one-year deal. Financial terms were not disclosed.
FANTASY TIP: Hart could be a sleeper candidate next season because he was not able to play in 2013 due to a knee injury. Hart could see time at first base, designated hitter and in the outfield for the Mariners. His power numbers may go down with the move, but he has the power to play in any stadium. His fantasy value likely will be determined by his health in 2014.

The Chicago Bears plan to put QB Jay Cutler (ankle) through a full-speed workout Wednesday, Dec. 11, before making a decision on whether he will start over QB Josh McCown in Week 15 against the Cleveland Browns. "We'll have receivers there afterwards. We'll work him through drops, redirect him in the pocket, move him up and down and get as much suddenness out of him as we can," head coach Marc Trestman said. "He's gone through the first steps (of being cleared to play) other than this workout. He's been cleared from a standpoint of allowing us to work him at full speed."
