ESPN.com reports Chicago Bears LB Brian Urlacher said he expects to boycott the mandatory minicamp that runs from May 30 to June 1, according to multiple media reports. "Unless something happens [with the contract] between now and then, I won't be there," Urlacher told the Chicago Tribune. Skipping the mandatory workouts could mean an $8,000 fine for Urlacher. Urlacher is unhappy with his current contract, but he is leaving the door open for further talks. "My agents and the team had some good dialogue early on, but nothing's happened lately," Urlacher said, according to Yahoo! Sports. "It's been almost two months since there's been any action on their end, and it's a waiting game right now."

Slaton carried the ball high near his shoulders. Kubiak said, "He carries the ball correctly. He's got the pressure points and stuff. You know, he's small in stature, and a lot of the contact with him is around the ball, whereas some guys it's around the legs. So it's been a rude awakening for him these last few days. We're constantly trying to strip the ball. But I have confidence in him that he'll try to protect the ball. I thought he did some very good things this weekend."

Marla Ridenour, of the Akron Beacon Journal, reports Cleveland Browns CB Kenny Wright already had a marijuana possession charge pending when he was picked up last month in Pearland, Texas, according to Brazoria County (Texas) district attorney Jeri Yenne. Wright was charged March 1 with Class B misdemeanor possession, which is less than two ounces. A hearing on the March charge is scheduled for June 27.

Jamison Hensley, of the Baltimore Sun, reports the Baltimore Ravens reached an agreement with LB Terrell Suggs to avoid a grievance, according to Suggs' agent. The sides reached an agreement on a one-year franchise tag tender worth close to $8.5 million, which will pay him as a hybrid defensive end-linebacker. It is believed the NFLPA and the NFL Management Council are finalizing details to sign off on the compromise.

Smith believes the Eagles, who scored the sixth-fewest touchdowns in the NFC and ranked 24th overall in touchdown efficiency, can fix its offensive problems. "The red zone is chemistry," he said. "Just like with anything else. You just have to have confidence." Smith also doesn't believe the team needs a big-time receiver to improve the offense. "Hey, people [will say], 'Well, let's get another big-time receiver in here.' That doesn't always have to do with it," Smith said. "You don't need a big-time receiver. People just have to stay healthy and guys just have to know what they're doing and make plays consistently."

The Associated Press reports Seattle Seahawks LB Lofa Tatupu was arrested over the weekend for investigation of drunken driving. Tatupu was stopped Saturday, May 10, early in the morning, according to police. A police report said Tatupu had breathalyzer tests of .155 and .158, which is over the legal limit of .08. The Seahawks were not available for comment.
