Lewis also said he would like to be part-owner for an NFL team. Lewis added, "Whichever one of the owners would want to invite me in. I've made multimultimillions, I think it's time to move up to another step. It's about the money, but it's (also) about what you can instill in a team. A lot of the views I have, the teams I've been on, there's a lot of things I would have done different if I were in that position. You would make some decisions that actually matter, when as a player your decisions don't matter."

Lewis said, "He left on his own terms . . . and I like that. When I came into this league, I modeled (myself) after Jim Brown and I always wanted to follow in his footsteps in everything he did. One of my main goals was to leave when I wanted to. My plans pretty much worked out the way I planned them 10 years ago."

Tom Kowalski, of Mlive.com, reports the Detroit Lions are expected to continue rotating LB Ernie Sims and LB DeAndre Levy Week 9, but playing time could be determined on who is playing better. Sims performed well late in the team's Week 8 game. Defensive coordinator Gunther Cunningham said, "He made some really good plays, and I hadn't seen him do that stuff. Ernie knows the scheme in the classroom and the walk-through situation and even in practice, but he's had some short circuits in the game where he didn't move fast enough because he didn't trust it. All of a sudden during the game -- and everybody on the staff saw it -- he made one play that was unbelievable. I hadn't seen him tackle that way at any time last year or this year, so I feel good for him. That was a good sign."
