Mon, 28 Jul 2014 15:26:59 -0700

Oakland Athletics OF Coco Crisp (neck) is undergoing an MRI exam on his neck Monday, July 28.

Athletics | Billy Burns to start against lefties

Mon, 28 Jul 2014 15:24:57 -0700

Oakland Athletics OF Billy Burns will likely start in center field against left-handed hitters, with OF Yoenis Cespedes playing there the rest of the time, according to manager Bob Melvin.

FANTASY TIP: Burns will make his first career start Wednesday with the team facing a left-hander. Jump on the Burns train immediately in AL-only and deep mixed leagues if you're searching for stolen bases.

Mets | Holding off decision on Jacob deGrom

Mon, 28 Jul 2014 15:06:59 -0700

New York Mets SP Jacob deGrom won't be skipped to limit his innings just yet, as he allowed one run in 13 1/3 innings in road starts against the Seattle Mariners and Milwaukee Brewers last week. General manager Sandy Alderson previously said the team would like to hold deGrom to 185 innings for the year, and he currently is 59 2/3 innings short of that mark. The Mets could either shut deGrom down when he reaches his innings limit or find a rotation turn later in the year to skip him.

FANTASY TIP: deGrom is probably a hot commodity now if he's available on any waiver wires. If you already owned him, now might be the time to see if anyone will take him off your hands.

Mon, 28 Jul 2014 14:53:31 -0700

FANTASY TIP: Lane's start was a spot start for the ailing Ian Kennedy (oblique). Don't expect Lane to stick around for long, and he's not worth a roster spot in any leagues.
