Indians | More on Danny Salazar's struggles

Wed, 23 Apr 2014 13:33:49 -0700

Cleveland Indians SP Danny Salazar said he has struggled with tipping pitches in the past and may be experiencing similar problems now. He watched video and noticed his glove position has changed when he's switched between fastballs and changeups; he said that when throwing the latter, he sometimes opens his glove up too much. Salazar has also experienced issues when facing a lineup the second time around. Cleveland is unlikely to force Salazar to try working things out in the minor leagues; they've recently affirmed their confidence directly to Salazar.

FANTASY TIP: Salazar is worth stashing in deep leagues; if he can fix his issues with his delivery and stamina, he could have a fine finish to the season. You have to consider how patient you can be in shallower formats, though. A surging Trevor Bauer may join the rotation if Salazar can't recover.
