Dallas Cowboys TE Gavin Escobar (shoulder) was able to practice some this week, and is hoping to play in the team's preseason game Saturday, Aug. 23. Escobar is in extra padding to protect the injury. "You can only contribute if you're on the field, so that's what I've got to do," said Escobar.

Updating previous reports, Boston Red Sox OF Rusney Castillo's contract will be for seven years, $72.5 million, and it will begin this season.
FANTASY TIP: There's a chance the 27-year-old Cuban comes up this year to get his feet wet. Many sources speculate that he'll lead off in 2015, which would make him an intriguing deep-league asset in what could be a reloaded Red Sox lineup.

Denver Broncos WR Emmanuel Sanders (quadriceps) had a full practice Thursday, Aug. 21, and he could play in his first preseason game Saturday, Aug. 23.
FANTASY TIP: Sanders should be good to go, but if he suffers another setback, he may be in trouble for Week 1. We'll keep you posted. For now, draft him as a low-end WR3.

Free-agent Cuban OF Rusney Castillo is expected to sign with the Boston Red Sox for a record-setting six-year, $72 million deal, according to a source.
FANTASY TIP: There's an outside chance he'll come up this year, but it's more likely that Castillo is someone to consider in deep fantasy leagues next year, especially those with five-outfielder requirement. Castillo has nice tools, notably his speed, and has hit with more authority since gaining weight, according to scouts. But he's not expected to have an impact like a Jose Abreu or Yasiel Puig.

Cleveland Browns QB Johnny Manziel could play with QB Brian Hoyer in a two-quarterback system later in the season, according to head coach Mike Pettine. Pettine said a package for Manziel is on the table. Pettine said he didn't anticipate a platoon early in the season. Pettine also made it clear that Hoyer is on a week-to-week trial.
FANTASY TIP: Hoyer is a mid-to-low QB2, and it sounds like he must perform extremely well to hold off Manziel. Manziel is a mid-to-low QB2 with upside.
