Mon, 21 Apr 2014 00:07:06 -0700

He became the first Sounds player to strike out 12 since Yovani Gallardo on June 21, 2007. Fiers' ERA is 0.87, and he's struck out 26 batters against two walks, leaving his WHIP at 0.73.

FANTASY TIP: Considering his 2013 was a hellish nightmare that included the death of his mother, a fracture in his pitching arm and his demotion to the minors, Fiers may be playing himself back into a potential spot start or two should he keep up the good work. It is worth monitoring Fiers in daily leagues should the starter earn a callup, and it may be worth stashing him away on your bench in deeper leagues.
