Updating a previous report, New York Giants RB Brandon Jacobs (knee) is already pushing to return to the team in 2014, and he indicated that the team would be his first choice over any of the other 31 clubs. "Listed, there is no place in the (NFL) that I'd rather be than right here at 1925 Giants Drive," Jacobs said Tuesday, Dec. 10, after landing on season-ending Injured Reserve. "Nowhere. We could've went 0-16 and I would be happy and smiling in this locker room because I'm a Giant at heart, I love the organization, I love the fans, I love that 'ny'. So there's not a better place for me. I'd rather be here than go somewhere and be undefeated. There is where I belong."

Formerly retired SP Mark Mulder will attempt to make a comeback in 2014. Mulder retired in 2009 after two surgeries to his left shoulder. Mulder watched Los Angeles Dodgers RP Paco Rodriguez and decided that he could emulate something about his delivery and has been working since November to get himself into shape. His fastball has been clocked at 89-90 mph. "The best way to describe it is, the ball is coming out of my hand better now than at any point when I was in St. Louis," Mulder said. "I wouldn't be trying this is if I didn't think the stuff I was throwing was good enough (to pitch in the big leagues)."
