Associated Press reports Carolina Panthers WR Steve Smith was jailed and charged with misdemeanor assault on Friday following an alleged attack on a teammate earlier this week. WR Anthony Bright, who spent two nights in the hospital this week because of the incident, filed a report with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg police when he was released from the hospital. Smith faces a maximum sentence of 120 days imprisonment. He was released Friday evening after posting $2,000 bond.
