Vikings | Alexander Note

Kevin Seifert reports for the Star Tribune Minnesota Vikings WR Derrick Alexander does not know where he fits in on the team's depth chart. Coach Mike Tice said he has not officially determined whether Alexander or D'Wayne Bates will start Sunday against the Jets. Earlier he had said he was leaning to Bates. Tice also did not say whether the loser of that competition will play in three-receiver sets ahead of WR Chris Walsh. Based on this week's practice, Alexander said: "I feel like they've kind of already made their decision, and put D'Wayne in front of me." Asked if he was concerned he could get buried on the depth chart, Alexander said: "It could happen. I've seen it happen before." Alexander said he knows he's a better player then he has shown so far.
