Patriots | Rob Gronkowski progressing
New England Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski (knee) said his knee is improving, but he hesitated to give any timetable or if he'll be ready for the season opener. "Oh man, that's too far away. I'm just improving every day right now," Gronkowski said. "I'm working hard every day to put myself in the best situation so that I'm ready." His recovery from knee surgery has gone according to plan so far, and he joined his teammates for the voluntary offseason program, which started April 21.
Fantasy Tip: This is the second straight offseason that Gronk will be recovering from surgery. However, if he doesn't have any setbacks, he should be ready in plenty of time for the regular season. New England could draft another tight end in the draft this year, but Gronkowski, when healthy, is clearly the team's No. 1 TE. Expect him to be drafted as one of the first tight ends off the board if he's fully healthy entering the season.
