Athletics | Jim Johnson regaining trust of manager

Oakland Athletics RP Jim Johnson has thrown six scoreless innings in his recent outings, and it has manager Bob Melvin once again considering him for the ninth-inning role. "It has certainly elevated the potential for him to close. … He's pitching really well," Melvin said. Melvin will continue to go with a bullpen-by-committee approach, however. One scout is surprised Johnson isn't back in there already, especially because of the way RPs Luke Gregerson and Sean Doolittle have struggled in the role. The scout is also very impressed with Johnson's sinker of late.

Fantasy Tip: Melvin could go back to Johnson any day now. If Johnson's still out there on your waiver wire, grab him now at a cheap cost. Once he's secured the role again, he'll cost you a pretty penny.
