Nationals | Ryan Zimmerman's recovery on track
Washington Nationals 3B Ryan Zimmerman (thumb) has started conditioning exercises and light fielding drills with just his glove hand. He's also running on an underwater treadmill. Zimmerman isn't ready to start squeezing a bat or putting pressure on his thumb, however, but recent X-rays showed his thumb is healing properly. The team's initial timetable for a four- to six-week recovery are on track.
Fantasy Tip: This is good news if you own Zimmerman. There is still a while before he'll be back, though, so you'll need to remain patient. Danny Espinosa remains a nice option for middle infield depth in deep mixed leagues until Zimmerman returns.
