Associated Press reports Oakland Raiders DE Trace Armstrong was re-elected as president of the National Football League Players Association. Brian Mitchell (Eagles), Robert Griffith (Browns), Troy Vincent (Eagles), Kevin Mawae (Jets) and Ernie Conwell (Rams) were elected to the executive committee. They will take vacancies filled by retired players Robert Smith, Lester Archambeau, Eugene Robinson, Mike Tomzak and Nolan Harrison. Executive committee members Ray Brown (49ers), Jason Belser (Chiefs), Robert Porcher (Lions), Tim Brown (Raiders) and Eddie George (Titans) were also re-elected. Player dues were increased from $5,000 to $10,000. The board also passed a resolution requiring any player going into the draft to wait at least 30 days before terminating a written agreement with an agent. Any agent who tampers with a player during that period will be subject to union discipline.
