Reds | Mat Latos coming back from surgery
Cincinnati Reds SP Mat Latos (elbow) is now able to stick his right arm out straight after undergoing surgery to remove four bone spurs from his left elbow. Latos is now longer in pain and is feeling very good when he extends his arm. He plans to throw this weekend off a mound. Latos doesn't think he'll have a problem being ready by opening day, but he's trying to gear up for spring training. "The whole idea is to get four to six bullpens before we start spring training. Nothing spectacular," Latos said. "Fastballs, maybe changeups -- maybe. It depends on how everything feels. Everything feels great. The surgery went well, it took 32 minutes, and I was out. It wasn't anything spectacular." He's been able to throw up to 120 feet already.
