Angels | Raul Ibanez signs

The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim signed free-agent OF Raul Ibanez (Mariners) to a one-year deal worth $2.75 million Wednesday, Dec. 18. Ibanez has incentives that could raise the total of the deal to $5 million. Ibanez is expected to replace OF Mark Trumbo as the team's designated hitter. He hit .242 with 29 homers for the Seattle Mariners last year.

Fantasy Tip: Although Ibanez's overall 2013 numbers were impressive given his age, expect his lackluster second half to be more indicative of his 2014 numbers than his first half explosion.
