Redskins | Robert Griffin ready for full workload
Washington Redskins head coach Mike Shanahan is confident that QB Robert Griffin III (knee) is ready to handle a full workload in the team's Week 1 game against the Philadelphia Eagles Monday, Sept. 9. "If we didn't feel Robert was full-go and ready to play and do all the things you ask a guy to do, he would not be playing in this game," Shanahan said. "If that's sprinting out, if it's running the option, if it's drop back, he can do all those things because he proved it to us in practice." Shanahan downplayed reports late last week that Dr. James Andrews was concerned about how the team might use Griffin.
Fantasy Tip: Don't hesitate to start RGIII in Week 1. There is obvious risk with him as your QB1 coming off major knee surgery, though. Make sure you're set with a capable backup in case Griffin aggravates his knee.
