Redskins | Robert Griffin not yet cleared for Week 1
Washington Redskins QB Robert Griffin III (knee) participated in drills before the preseason game Monday, Aug. 19, against the Pittsburgh Steelers under the watchful eye of Dr. James Andrews. Griffin was then examined, and there was a discussion with the quarterback and the team on the plan for the next steps in Griffin's rehab. Andrews has not yet cleared Griffin for Week 1. He is scheduled to be re-examined Aug. 29.
Fantasy Tip: The quarterback situation for the regular season opener is very shaky right now in D.C., as Griffin is no slam dunk to start in Week 1, and now Kirk Cousins (foot) is dealing with an injury, too. If you plan to draft, or already have drafted Griffin, be sure to have plenty of depth at the quarterback position just in case he misses regular season time.
