Phillies | Roy Halladay might be back in September
Updating a previous report, Philadelphia Phillies SP Roy Halladay (shoulder) might be able to return to the team's rotation by September, according to general manager Ruben Amaro Jr. He made just seven starts this season, the final year of a three-year, $60 million deal. He has a vesting option for 2014 that will not trigger, making him a free agent.
Fantasy Tip: Since he is expected to become a free agent, there is reasonable doubt as to why he would push to return in September and possibly risk aggravating or re-injuring himself. He is 36 years old, and even if he can return for the final month, he might just make a handful of starts. If you have very deep rosters and can afford a potential dead spot, stash him away. But if you're tight for space, there is no guarantee he makes it back to help, especially in head-to-head formats.
