Jets | Geno Smith outplaying Mark Sanchez

New York Jets QB Geno Smith appears to be outplaying QB Mark Sanchez in training camp and could be pulling even or ahead in the quarterback competition. "He can do more" than Sanchez, one veteran said, speaking on the condition of anonymity. Sanchez threw another interception while leading the first-team offense Wednesday, July 31, and Smith has yet to throw an interception over the last five practices. The private hope in camp is that Smith can seize the starting job, and even if he doesn't, head coach Rex Ryan hinted that Smith will be involved somehow, most likely in a running capacity from the QB position.

Fantasy Tip: It's still way early, so don't go anointing Smith as the Jets' starter just yet. There's still a good chance that Sanchez wins the job, and the team utilizes Smith in Wildcat formations. Neither Smith nor Sanchez should be drafted as anything more than QB3s this season.
