Redskins | Robert Griffin understands patience
Washington Redskins QB Robert Griffin III (knee) said Tuesday, July 30, that he understands why the team is limiting his participation in practice early in training camp. "I mean, I say jokingly that I have to be compliant," Griffin said. "You know, (head coach Mike Shanahan) isn't gonna let me go out there and do that kind of stuff. I don't feel like I'm pushing it, or if I was to do it, that I'd be pushing myself or my leg. I feel like I'm ready for that, but we're being real cautious right now and taking it slow."
Fantasy Tip: Griffin is not working in team drills, but he is working on 7-on-7 drills. Prospective fantasy owners don't mind seeing him being treated with kid gloves. The less stress on his knee, and the lack of hits, will keep him healthy going into the season. He is expected to wear a brace during the season, but doesn't expect that to limit him. Fantasy owners who plan to draft Griffin obviously need a fallback plan, whether that is drafting another Top 20 caliber fantasy quarterback, or perhaps even stashing Redskins backup QB Kirk Cousins.
