Yankees | Alex Rodriguez wants to play Friday
New York Yankees 3B Alex Rodriguez (quadriceps, hip) said he is ready to return to the team and play Friday, July 26. "I think the Yanks and I crossed signals. I don't want any more mix-ups. I'm excited and ready to play and help this team win a championship. I feel great and I'm ready and want to be in the lineup Friday night. Enough doctors, let's play," Rodriguez said. Rodriguez has said that he doesn't trust the team's doctor, Dr. Chris Ahmad, who had diagnosed Rodriguez with a Grade 1 quadriceps strain. Rodriguez has done no baseball activity since Sunday, July 21.
Fantasy Tip: The Rodriguez saga continues, and it's unknown if the Yankees will accomodate A-Rod and allow him to return this weekend. Our guess would be no; they will likely require him to go on another minor league rehab assignment to prove he is fully healthy.
