Rockies | Troy Tulowitzki targeting pre-break return
Colorado Rockies SS Troy Tulowitzki (rib) has had dramatic improvement in his fractured right fifth rib, and he might be able to begin a minor-league rehab assignment as soon as Monday, July 8, with Triple-A Colorado Springs. He said Sunday, July 7, that he will not play in the All-Star Game, where he was voted to start at shortstop, without playing first for the Rockies. He is aiming to return for the final series before the break against the Los Angeles Dodgers, which begins Thursday, July 11. "I want to be back for the Dodgers series. But I have to make sure it's right," Tulowitzki said. "I need to see how it responds in a game, and how it feels on a check swing or awkward swing. The team needs me in the second half."
Fantasy Tip: Keep Tulowitzki reserved, but know he is nearing a return. Fantasy owners will want to activate him in all leagues after he gets more rest following the All-Star break.
