Dodgers | Trying to fix Carlos Marmol's mechanics
The Los Angeles Dodgers are sending RP Carlos Marmol to the minors in hopes that they can fix a delivery issue. A source said Marmol "agreed to work with them" and go to the minors as a condition of the trade with the Chicago Cubs. Marmol has more than six years of major league service time and thus has the right to decline an outright minor league assignment. He apparently will waive that right if he clears waivers this week. The Cubs have agreed to pay nearly $2 million of his remaining $4.8 million salary this year. The Cubs also took on all of the $2.375 million still owed to RP Matt Guerrier, who was acquired in the deal from the Dodgers.
Fantasy Tip: The only place Marmol should be owned is in the deepest of NL-only formats. There is no guarantee he'll make it back to the big leagues, and even less of a chance that he'll pitch in meaningful innings out of the bullpen if he does.
