Marlins | Many teams interested in Ricky Nolasco
The Los Angeles Dodgers, Baltimore Orioles, San Francisco Giants, Texas Rangers and Colorado Rockies are all interested in trading for Miami Marlins SP Ricky Nolasco this summer. The Dodgers are the favorites because they're willing to eat the remaining $5.75 million on Nolasco's $11.5 million salary for this year. Right now, there is no deal on the table for a team willing to take on Nolasco's contract. The Rockies are offering two decent prospects but don't want to pay the salary.
The San Diego Padres are another team that could jump into the Nolasco mix. Miami has shown signs that they are willing to trade him before his next start Wednesday, July 3, but they also insist "he's not a giveaway." The Marlins are looking for a decent prospect in return. Nolasco has gone 4-8 with a 3.93 ERA this season.
