Tigers | Anibal Sanchez feeling much improved
Detroit Tigers SP Anibal Sanchez (shoulder) said that he felt great following a simulated three innings on Thursday, June 27, in which he threw 40 pitches. "Everything's normal, everything's back on track. So I think I'm just going to wait for the process," he said. Sanchez will miss his turn on Monday, July 1, because he's expected to make a rehab start for Class A Advanced Lakeland on that date, likely pitching around five innings. He could be ready for his next turn, which falls on July 6, against the Cleveland Indians.
Fantasy Tip: Sanchez seems eager to return, but if he's to build up to 60 pitches and then 75 or 80, as he suggested to reporters, he's looking at another rehab start. Jose Alvarez has done a fine job in the veteran's place, but whether that continues may affect the Tigers' decision about when to activate Sanchez. Stay tuned.
