Rangers | Leadoff role may have corrupted Elvis Andrus

Texas Rangers SS Elvis Andrus hit just .189 with a .265 on-base percentage in the leadoff spot when 2B Ian Kinsler was on the disabled list, and he's hitting .170 with a .419 OPS since his five-hit game in his first game hitting leadoff. Manager Ron Washington thinks the move in lineup spots has hurt Andrus. Washington has no intention of moving Andrus further down in the lineup to move OF Leonys Martin up. "Sometimes you just have to let guys struggle a little bit," Washington said. "When I was a player, I liked to know where I was hitting and I think these players like to also. They've accepted what we've had to do because of injuries and they do it because they are pros. But as soon as we are healthy and guys are getting back to what they normally do, you won't see all this moving around."
